This sign is located on Raeford Rd just as you leave Cumberland County.

The Turkey Festival is held each September in the town of Raeford and draws 50,000 people.

Hoked county was created in 1911 and named after the Confederate soldier Major General Robert F. Hoke.

The county originally was mostly cotton farming. It is now largely industrial.
