HENNEPIN POINT is said to be the spot on which Father Hennepin stood when he beheld the Falls and drew the first known picture of Niagara. There is a safe view down the precipice of 187 feet.
The view doesn't really exist anymore. The foliage along the edge of the gorge has grown and eliminated any views that were possible before. A bronze marker attached to a large boulder marks the spot where Father Hennepin first saw the Falls.
