From the State of Michigan Historic Preservation Office website:
Narrative Description:
Grace Episcopal Church is a rectangular Greek Revival frame building with a one-and-one-half story sanctuary, a shallow one-story projection from the gable facade of the sanctuary and a heavy, square extension tower. The walls are covered in simple clapboard siding and the most decorative architectural elements are the Gothic lancet windows. Gable roofs top both main parts of the building.

Statement of Significance:
Completed on November 15, 1848, and built by congregation members at a cost of $3,000, Grace Episcopal Church was the first Episcopal church in Jonesville. The church was considered a pioneer mission and one of the first church buildings in Michigan west of Detroit. Because its design does not follow patterns that would have been available at the time of its construction, Grace Church is one of the few surviving examples of indigenous church architecture in the state. The church was moved nearby in 1946 and attached to a schoolhouse that now serves as the parish hall. Local functions and regular services continue to be held in the building.

From the Michigan Historical marker on-site:

GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH:
William N. Lyster, Irish-born missionary, preached in Jonesville in 1836, and Darius Barker organized the parish in 1838. A church featuring Classical and Gothic styling was begun in 1844 and consecrated by Bishop Samuel McCoskry in 1848. Panelling and furniture made from black walnut are still in place. William Walton Murphy, a founder and vestryman, was Abraham Lincoln's consul-general to the German city of Frankfurt.
