The City of Huron, SD, tells its story through outdoor murals painted on the sides of the buildings in the downtown area. There are presently about twenty murals and a new one is added annually.
This two panel mural commemorates the Grand Opera House that opened in 1885 and was the finest theater in the Dakota Territory. It was the entertainment center of the region until it burned down in 1902.
