The Pisgah United Methodist Church is thought to be the oldest congregation in Tazewell County. The roots of the church date to the year 1793 when Reverend John Kobler preached the first sermon in the area. The present church building was constructed in 1889 and is the third structure to stand in the area. The church is still an important part of the area and still holds services every Sunday Morning.
