Pioneer Park, a gift to the city of Puyallup from its founding father Ezra Meeker, is a vital part of the community. Since the early 1900's the park has been the town commons - site of the Farmers' Market, community festivals, and more. The Puyallup Public Library faces the park and now, a covered pavilion for the farmer's market allows the market to run almost year round.
In the center of the park you will see a statue of Meeker, and behind it is a trellis supporting a montrous ivy vine that was planted by Eliza Meeker, Ezra's wife.
Scattered throughout the park is a variety of sculpture, so be sure to take the time to wander around. The library also has some amazing artwork inside, so take a look around it also.
