The late Peter Dolmans writes in his book "Lincolnshire Windmills - a contemporary survey...
“There was a post mill on this site until at least 1842 but in 1855 a 'newly erected' tower mill. It worked until the 1930's and lost its sails in 1938. In 1964 the upright shaft, spur gearing, one pair of stones and other items were taken to Brixton mill in London where they were used in the restoration by Thompsons of Alford. There were four patent sails, driving two pairs of French and one pair of grey stones.”
