This cave is located north of Shoshone, ID off Hwy 75. The cave is accessible in the family vehicle with care.
To explore this cave you can do so between May 2 - Oct 14. The remainder of the year the cave is closed to protect the bat population.
The entrance to this cave is very low and requires entering on your hands and knees for approximately 75 - 100 feet to reach the main cavern, which runs north and south for quite some distance. The main cavern is quite large and is suspected to run either beneath the museum at Idaho's Mammoth Cave or very near it.
As always, when exploring in the desert, keep a watch for the critters that live here that could spoil your day.
