Raleigh has had a Farmers' Market for decades. However, the former location was aging and was difficult to reach. In 1991, the facility was moved to a new site with modern, open-style buildings, just off Interstate 40.
To reach, take Exit 287 (Lake Wheeler Road) and go north about a quarter mile. The entrance will be on the left. The hours are:
Monday-Saturday 5AM to 6PM
Sunday 8AM to 6PM.

Thousands of products are available from hundreds of vendors, representing growers from Wake County, and a dozen surrounding counties. Speciality meats, including bison, duck, and ostrich are available. There is a fine restaurant on the grounds.
