During the fighting in the area of the Wheatfield on July 2, 1863, General John R. Brooke's Brigade consisted of the 53rd and 145th Pennsylvania, 64th New York, 2nd Deleware, and 27th Connecticut Infantries.

This Regimental Association monument is to represent and honor all of these infantry units.
