Selby Field was built in 1929 by the Osborn Engineering Company who also built Yankee Stadium. The 9,100 seat facility is home to Ohio Wesleyan University's football, field hockey, track & field and lacrosse teams.
When it was built the press box was said to be "the largest in Ohio outside of Ohio Stadium." The venue is the fourth largest NCAA Division III stadium. Since 1988 the stadium has undergone several renovations including a new press box, new bleacher seats, and an updated locker room. In 2006 the natural grass surface was replaced with an artificial surface and the running track was updated with an all-weather polyurethane surface. Prior to this Selby was thought to be the oldest facility in the nation constructed to Olympic specifications and remaining in its original configuration.
