Memory Gardens Pet Cemetery at 9055 Pendleton Pike in Indianapolis is a large, well-kept pet cemetery featuring individual gravesite and mausoleums. It was established more than 50 years ago by Leona Frankfort after retiring from the Indianapolis Police Department as the dog pound superintendent. There are more than 5,000 animals buried here. Although most are cats and dogs, there are others such as birds and monkeys.
