The Waterfront Trail in Hamilton is one of the hidden gems that this busy steel town is fortunate to have.
This gorgeous public sculpture is located at the end of Discovery Way, just North of the intersection of James N and Burlington St. There is so much to see down here and this is one item that should not be missed, but how can you? It is very large!
Be sure to refer to the plaque at the site for the history of this sculpture, but below are selected excerpts from that plaque.
In 2003, the Hamilton Waterfront Trust held a Public Art Competition for a visual artwork to be permanently displayed along the Hamilton Waterfront Trail at Pier 8. {snip} The work was created to move with a calculated sway of wind and a flex under snow and rain as well as a visible vibration in some of the ribs and wings.
The above is only some of the details that you can read about when you visit!
Hope you enjoy the Waymark Visit!
