This cannon is near the memorials at the northwest corner of Burlington Common in Burlington, Massachusetts. According to the plaque affixed to the base, it was a gift from Samuel E. Walker, presented by Col. Wilford A. Walker, to Milligan-McKenzie Post 273 American Legion, May 29, 1957.
As far as my online research can tell, the cannon was manufactured by Cyrus Alger & Company. I did not measure it, but it seems to be a six-pounder bronze field gun, 1838 model. Markings on the left trunnion read "1838 S B I Co" (perhaps S B F Co, referring to the South Boston Foundry?), and on the right right "CA PATENT". The upper breach markings read "1 568 GT".
