Maintained by the Hamburg Natural History Society, the Penn Dixie Site is open to the public for fossil collecting Monday thru Friday9 AM to 4 PM, from June 18 to September 1, rain or shine. Also open Saturdays May to October.
If you are lucky, you will find corals, bryozoans, trilobites (I did!),crinoids, pelecypods, brachiopods, cephalopods and gastropods....just to drop a few names!
Many, many activities are planned of an educational nature. But the greatest thrill is to find your own fossils and take them home with you!
There is an Earth cache here as well, if you check out Geocaching.com.
