The museum—located at the site of the Civil War’s most notorious prison camp—looks at what happens to the human spirit when liberty is denied.
It is my wish an hopes that you will be stirred to visit and experience the displays, images and movies for yourself. Maybe then you will have a better understanding of the price paid for the freedom that we enjoy everyday. Everyone should see the exhibits here that include both narrated videos as well as a large number of still photos. Many artifacts including letters, tools and other items are also on display.
