Tripid Rock is a glacial erratic, meaning a rock that has been left behind by a retreating glacier. This huge rock was set down on 3 smaller rocks some 15,000 years ago when the Wisconson glacier retreated.

Though some maintain that this is of man made orgin, most geologists discount that possibility. However it is said that if you sit on a smaller nearby erratic and look through the bottom of the rock you will see the sun rise during the summer solstice.
