Lt. Gen. James Longstreet, C.S.A., coming from Loudon via Huff's Ferry and the Hotchkiss Valley Road, attacked Maj. Gen. Ambrose Burnside at Lenoir's Station at dusk, Nov. 15, 1863. Burnside retreated early the next morning via Concord to Campbell's Station, now Farragut.
