The Red Lion Inn is a traditional 15th century Lakeland hotel, with oak beams and real fires. Originally a coaching inn, with stabling in adjacent yard, one of the oldest hotels in Hawkshead.

The oak panelling and traditional fireplace in the bar have remained unchanged since the 18th century. In former times, one of the rooms on second floor was used as a court room.
Local ales and excellent food.
