Widow Ramsey's Tavern
Near here was the juncion of old Baltimore-Annapolis Road ("The General's Highway") and a road laid out by Charles Carroll from Doughorean Manor. On the south side of Severn Run stood Widow Ramsey's where George Washington breakfasted June 7, 1773, and again on May 6, 1775, as he traveled north to take command of the revolutionary forces.
