"The Geirangerfjord is considered one of the most beautiful fjords in the world - a 20-kilometre-long branch of the Storfjord that stretches between Hellesylt and Geiranger. It is part of the West Norwegian Fjord Landscape, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site - and rightly so: steep rock faces, abandoned farms and thundering waterfalls make every visit unforgettable.

At its deepest point, the fjord measures almost 260 meters, while the surrounding peaks rise up to 1,600-1,700 meters. The contrasts are huge - and breathtaking. Nature takes center stage here - powerful, surprising and touching.

Some of Norway's most famous waterfalls plunge directly into the fjord. The Seven Sisters, with their seven slender streams, face the suitor on the opposite side. The Bridal Veil, with its fine mist of water, is a particular highlight. When the sun hits the water, rainbows dance across the fjord.

Between the waterfalls, farms such as Skageflå, Knivsflå, Blomberg, Matvik and Syltevik cling high up on the mountainsides. These places tell of a time when people lived from the sea and the mountains - a hard life full of courage and endurance. Today, the farms provide a historical backdrop to the magnificent nature, and some can be explored on foot or from the fjord."
