From time to time, member states of the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (Upaep in Spanish) issue postage stamps with a common theme. In 2020, Aruba issued a pair of stamps featuring architectural heritage buildings in Oranjestad: the Aruba Investment Bank, located downtown on Wilhelminastraat, and this former residence, a little further out, on Avenida Milio Croes.
The house was built by businessman Addison Winfield Croes in an area that was well away from the town center at that time. It was designed by architect Dada Picus who was inspired by an existing structure in Cartagena, Colombia. Currently, the Croes House is home to the Aruba Monument Fund Foundation.
