Though not the highest point on the island, the Hooiberg (haystack in English) has long been an identifying feature of Aruba. It even occupies a place on Aruba’s coat of arms. In 1951, a concrete staircase was built to the 541 ft. summit of the Hooiberg which has become a popular recreational activity.

The stamp was one of four issued in 2022 featuring various landscapes of Aruba and included the California Lighthouse, a natural bridge and the Casibari Rocks in addition to the Hooiberg.
