Today, the number of Jews residing on Aruba number less than 100, but there has been a Jewish presence on the island for centuries. Most arrived from Eastern Europe in the mid-1920s. A Jewish center was opened in 1942 and the congregation was established in 1956. The synagogue building was completed in 1962. Services are held on Friday nights and, from what I understand, they attract as many visitors as locals.
The stamp was part of a set of four issued in 2010 featuring various houses of worship on Aruba.
