The apricot painted vertical slab is mounted on three painted steps - each step having sundry additional information on the Units involved in the 'Operation Zipper' landing on 9th September 1945 to liberate Malaysia from the Japanese Army. The slab has pressed into it, that beach landing group handled some: 42,651 Personnel, 3,968 Vehicles, and 11,224 tons of Stores.

The following excerpt is of the 69th Anniversary of the Beach Landing, as reported by the High Commision of India, stationed in Kuala Lumpur (some 60km away).

"The High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Shri T.S. Tirumurti visited the Military Memorial site at the picturesque Morib Beach on 9th September, 2014. He was accompanied by Colonel Praveen Chhabra, Defence Advisor in the High Commission of India.

"The Memorial had been erected to commemorate the landing of the 23rd Indian Division and 25th Indian Division on Morib Beach, exactly 69 years ago. The 46 Indian Beach Group facilitated the landing of 42,651 personnel, 3,968 vehicles and 11,224 tons of stores. The Morib landing signified the end of the Second World War in the region. Several Indian Divisions had participated as a part of the Allied Forces in the Malayan Campaign during the Second World War and suffered the largest number of casualties. Many of these regiments continue to this day in the Indian army." [ex-below link]
