Wat Suan Kaeo Uttayan Yai is third in the line of four temples running southeast from Wat Chang Lom. The principal chedi, now ruined, probably once resembled the lotus-bud chedi found at the adjacent monument Wat Chedi Chet Taeo.

As the superstructure has entirely collapsed, the monument is of little intrinsic interest apart from its position in the larger ensemble of temples running parallel to the Yom river. Adjacent to the chedi, to the southeast, is a ruined viharn (assembly hall) with a few freestanding columns.
