The war memorial commemorating those lost from Muthill parish, is situated on the apex of Thornhill Street and Willoughby Street on the main A822 route through this Perthshire village between the towns of Crieff and Auchterarder. It is a Celtic cross constructed of Aberdeen granite designed by Crieff architect, Charles T. Ewing, and constructed by Muthill builder, John T. McRobbie. It was unveiled on July 3rd 1921 in the presence of the Earl of Ancaster of Drummond Castle.
The Celtic cross tops the memorial above a tapered shaft on a rectangular plinth on a low stone step amidst a gravel area at the northern tip of Highlandman Park. The inscription on the main face looking north reads as follows:
'IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF MUTHILL WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY DURING THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 AND IN THANKFULNESS TO GOD FOR THE VICTORY THEIR VALOUR HELPED TO WIN
