The Curonian Spit is a piece of land that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea.
The "Preilos Papludimys" (Preila Beach) is on the Baltic Sea side, while the
city of Preila is on the Lagoon side. The distance between city and beach is
about 2 kilometers and there are several paths that lead from the town through the forest to the beach.
When we were here in August the general temperature was 24°C and the water
21°C, but some people were swimming anyway and others just cherishing the
sun. The beach is very long and is not at all crowded even in the high
season.
There are lifeguards on duty from 10 am to 7 pm. There's also a
