The Healy Chapel, built in 1928, was designed by George Grant Elmslie in a Prairie School style. The building exhibits many Prairie School style features including the emphasis on horizontal lines, changes of textures between brick on the first floor and stucco above, geometric designed terra cotta and stained glass windows.
The Healy Undertaking Company ranks among the oldest of the family firms in Aurora family members still involved in the operations. The firm was the first mortuary in Kane County to have a chapel specifically designed for that purpose.
