Stubicki Golubovec castle once belonged to the great estate famous from the Peasant Uprising and was owned by Malakoci and Domjanici Zelinski families during the 17th and 18th century. The present three-winged castle with a chapel was built in the middle of the 18th century, but was given the representative character by bishop Maksimilian Vrhovac at the begin of the 19th century, when the altana porch and the park were added. After Vrhovac, the castle was owned by families Sermage, Rauch, Steeb and Hennenberg. Valuable Meissen heating units are preserved in the castle, partially also the court chapel, intarzed floors and the renovated representative staircase. The castle is surrounded by an English park of the highest value. The society Kajkaviana for collecting, keeping and promoting the Croatian kajkavian heritage with a permanent exhibition "Kajkaviana Croatica", open to general public, nowadays uses the premises of the castle. The representative palace regularly holds concerts, plays, lectures and promotions. The castle also presents an art collection from the donation of Antun and Antonije Bauer to the town of Donja Stubica (artwork by Murtic, Lovrencic, Lackovic Croata, Greta Vizler and others). Every September there is an exhibition "Traditional Family Garden of Zagorje".
