The gargoyles are located in Silves Cathedral in Algarve, South of Portugal.
The Silves Cathedral dates from the XIII century but the works took a long time mostly due to hearthquakes in the XIV century so it was finished only in the XV century.
The Gothic decoration dates from this late period and we believe that the Gargoyles also date from the XV century.
Due to the type of rock used in the construction, the gargoyles condition is not the best.
The given coordinates are from the main entrance of the church so feel free to walk around the church and discover the details.
