Sábado y domingo: 12 a cierre (timbre)

"Of the Renaissance palaces in Ecija, the palace of the counts of Valhermoso constitutes the most relevant example. It is a building ordered to be built by the Marquises of Fuentes and Villaseca in the 16th century according to the Renaissance artistic canons of the time, and can be dated to around 1530.

Its entrance façade is the best Plateresque example in Écija and is composed of a formidable semicircular arch that houses the façade itself, formed by a door with a carpanel arch framed by pilasters and on both sides the tenant figures of the Noble Savage. In the second body there is a large balcony flanked by two allegorical sculptures and topped by a carved triangular pediment.

The upper level of the façade is resolved into an open gallery of semicircular arches on columns. The complex presents a typical Renaissance decoration based on grotesques and candelieri.

After entering the property is the staircase leading to the upper floor, from the 18th century, sumptuous for its plasterwork decoration, highlighting the altarpiece of the Virgin of the Valley in the resting section of it.

Finally, we must highlight as singular elements at the façade level, some trompe-l'oeil that simulate windows, but in poor condition.

Hours: Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (bell). Saturday and Sunday: 12 to close (bell)
