Things are not going well for commercial shipping in Zaanstad. After all the obstacles due to the renovation and enlargement of the Wilhelminasluis in Zaandam, the Juliana Bridge in Zaandijk will be an obstacle later this month.

"The bridge at Zaanse Schans will therefore be closed to shipping on Monday, Jan. 18, from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Jan. 19 from 09:00 to 11:30, with reserve dates of Jan. 25 and 26. Interested parties who disagree with this decision may file a notice of objection within six weeks. This can be done online or by letter to Burgemeester en & Wethouders, Postbus 2000, 1500 GA Zaandam. The notice of objection must include the date, name, address, signature and justification. You can request information by completing the contact form online. The municipality will then contact you."
