[ENG] On the top of the Chelmska hill there is a Sanctuary of Our Lady Thrice Admirable. The Christian temple was there in middle ages but in the times of Lutheran Reformation it has been demolished. Rebuilt in 1970's and stays her till today.
Here is the story referred with that holy place and st. James Way:
"In the Middle Ages, the owner of the nearby village of Osieki was Piotr Bulgrin. According to old accounts, he killed his brother in a fit of passion. According to the rules of the time, he had to atone for his act with a pilgrimage to a holy place. So he went to Rome. There he heard that such a grave sin had to be atone for with a pilgrimage to an even holier place – to Santiago de Compostela. Imagine his surprise when, after many hardships and sacrifices, he reached his next destination and heard that the sin of fratricide could only be redeemed by a pilgrimage… to Chelmska Mountain, which was almost next to his home."
[POL] Na szczycie Chelmskiej góry znajduje sie Sanktuarium Matki Boskiej Trzykroc Przedziwnej. Swiatynia chrzescijanska znajdowala sie tam jeszcze w sredniowieczu, ale w czasach reformacji luteranskiej zostala zburzona. Odbudowana w latach 70. XX wieku stoi tu do dzis.
Oto historia zwiazana z tym swietym miejscem i droga sw Jakuba:
"W sredniowieczu wlascicielem pobliskiej wsi Osieki byl Piotr Bulgrin. Jak mówia dawne przekazy, zdarzylo sie, iz w afekcie zabil swego brata. Zgodnie z ówczesnymi zasadami musial za swój czyn odpokutowac pielgrzymka do miejsca swietego. Udal sie wiec do Rzymu. Tam uslyszal, ze tak ciezki grzech musi odpokutowac pielgrzymka do miejsca jeszcze swietszego – do Santiago de Compostela. Jakiez bylo jego zdziwienie, kiedy po wielu trudach i wyrzeczeniach dotarl do kolejnego celu i uslyszal, ze grzech bratobójstwa odkupic moze tylko pielgrzymka... na Góre Chelmska, lezaca niemal kolo jego domu."
