The parish of Monzie lies in Perthshire just over two miles north-east of the town of Crieff at the foot of the Highlands. It includes an estate with a castle and a small group of buildings alongside a minor road that includes the church which lies north-east of the road on a rise above the churchyard.

The current building replaced a predecessor in 1830-31 to a design by William Stirling. A later addition in 1894 by H.B.W. Steele & Balfour included the entrance porch and most of the interior.

The church is aligned north-west to south-east and is of rubble which has been white harled, the roof is slated. Three pointed-arch windows adorn each side with a smaller three on the south-east gable, one being above the entrance porch. The main feature of the building is an octagonal stone belfry on the apex of this gable which contains a 24 inch bell cast in 1913 by John Taylor & Co. of Loughborough Foundry.

The church merged with Fowlis in 1961, but has since been closed for services.
