Loch Turret is a freshwater loch at the head of Glen Turret in the fold of the mountains above the Perthshire resort town of Crieff. The loch has been dammed since the 1860s to supply water to the town, and both the loch and dam has been enlarged many times since, with the last enlargement of the dam occurring in 1963-64 with an earth bank holding back 18,000 mega litres of water. The loch is now 2.2 miles long and 0.4 miles wide running north-west to south-east, with its waters now also serving the petrochemical plant at Grangemouth.
The dam can be reached up a motorable road following the Turret Burn to a car parking area just south of the dam which can be walked across from the control tower at the eastern end. Fishing is only allowed with a permit.
