1. Red Bird Monument: N 34° 23.756 E 132° 27.195
Dedicated to Japanese novelist Miekichi Suzuki, this monument, the work of Katsuzo Entsuba, was built in 1964 and serves as a symbol of Hiroshima’s recovery from the devastation of the atomic bomb and the hope for world peace. The inscription on the monument reads, "I will forever dream, simply as I did in my boyhood, and therefore suffer only a little. Miekichi." (visit link)

2. Genbaku Dome: N 34° 23.704 E 132° 27.220
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial, commonly called the Genbaku Dome, the Atomic Bomb Dome or A-Bomb Dome, is part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. In December 1996, the Genbaku Dome was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Its inclusion into the UNESCO list was based on its survival from a destructive force (atomic bomb), the first use of nuclear weapons on a human population, and its representation as a symbol of peace.

3.The Children's Peace Monument: N 34° 23.646 E 132° 27.167
Designed by native artists Kazuo Kikuchi and Kiyoshi Ikebe, the monument was built using money derived from a fund-raising campaign by Japanese school children, including Sadako Sasaki's classmates, with the main statue entitled "Atomic Bomb Children". The statue was unveiled on 5 May 1958, the Japanese Children's Day holiday. Sadako Sasaki, who died of an atomic bomb disease radiation poisoning is immortalized at the top of the statue, where she holds a wire crane above her head.

4. Memorial Cenotaph: N 34° 23.572 E 132° 27.152
The Memorial Cenotaph for the Victims of the A-Bomb is located in the center of the park and is decorated with flowers. In the empty space in the center of the monument, we can see the Genbaku Dome. The Memorial Cenotaph was one of the first memorial monuments built on open field on August 6, 1952. The arch shape represents a shelter for the souls of the victims.

5. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum: N 34° 23.502 E 132° 27.124
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was established in August 1955. Consisting of two buildings, the museum traces the history of Hiroshima and the advent of the nuclear bomb. Its main objective, however, is to focus on the events of August 6: the dropping of the bomb and its consequences in human suffering. (Hours: 7:30am to 7:00pm)
