Place Monestier, on ne manque pas d’idées, surtout du côté des restaurateurs-cafetiers. Cette année, ils sont de nouveau quatre à s’être associé pour mettre sur pied les apéros-concerts-restos du Before, le « festival off » de Darc.

Théo Gil, de l’Imprévu, Clément Jacquart, du Café Moustache, Marc’Ange Spinosi, de la Casa Corsa et Florian Souedet, du Bistrot des Halles, ont concocté six rendez-vous qui vont nous mettre en bouche.

« Le choix des groupes se veut éclectique, souligne ce dernier. Mais nous sommes dans la dynamique de concerts-apéros. La musique se veut plutôt smooth ». Pour profiter pleinement de ses amis autour d’une planche, assis en terrasse. Un succès qui ne se dément pas au fil des ans.

« Le Before est devenu un rendez-vous qui a sa place dans le paysage castelroussin, reprend Florian Souedet. Nous voulons construire ensemble pour faire vivre le cœur historique de Châteauroux. »

Buvette pour la Fête de la musique, soirée Feria (le 20 juillet cette année), Beaujolais Nouveau… Les idées sont légion. « D’autres sont à venir », sourit Florian Souedet. Pour l’heure, place au Before 2024 !

Charlotte Taboyer va mettre l’ambiance avec ses sons swings et jazz manouche.
La chanteuse-guitariste castelroussine, plus connue sous le nom de scène de Charl’hotClub (en référence à Django Reinhardt), se produira en compagnie de Christophe Duplan et Thierry Moutoulatchimy.

La « Woman Swing » compose, écrit et s’éclate sur scène à jouer du swing et du jazz manouche, un style musical qu’elle travaille depuis ses sept ans et le jour où sa grand-mère lui a offert une guitare. Inspirée, entre autres, par San Severino (et Django of course), Charlotte Taboyer sait mettre l’ambiance…

Mardi 13 août, place Monestier, 19 h. Gratuit.
Aloïs propose une chanson française teintée de gospel et de rock.
Aloïs s’inspire de son mode de vie nomade pour chanter ses désirs de voyages, ses réflexions sur la liberté, l’amitié ou l’amour. D’une voix puissante et franche, il rend hommage à ce qu’il trouve beau, joyeux ou mélancolique, aux forces qui nous poussent ou qui nous retiennent. Une chanson française rythmée, teintée de gospel et de rock pour faire danser, chanter ou rêver.

Mercredi 14 août, place Monestier, 19 h. Gratuit.
Avec Bad Buddha se produit cette fois-ci en quintet !
Le duo pop/soul castelroussin, Bad Buddha, revient sur la scène mais, cette fois-ci, il se produira en… quintet ! À l’occasion du Before, pour une date unique cet été, Asla (lead vocal) et Lionel (guitare) s’entourent de trois musiciens et amis de longue date, Lahouari (basse), Steeven (batterie) et Hafid (guitare). Ils joueront le répertoire habituel de Bad Buddha et quelques nouveautés, le tout sur un son plus électrique que… before.

Jeudi 15 août, place Monestier, 19 h. Gratuit.
The Crooked Nails, un trio rock, blues et folk.
Une contrebasse claquante et une guitare grognarde s’échangent vieilles histoires, rêveries et bouts de vie pour les tourner en airs de blues. Un harmonica répond sur un air de folk… Des chaînes, des bouts de bois et de métal s’entrechoquent pour imprimer le rythme d’un rock’n’roll primitif. The Crooked Nails, un duo devenu trio, laisse une place à l’improvisé, au non-écrit et au sensible pour offrir une musique de l’instant, sincère et épidermique.

Vendredi 16 août, place Monestier, 19 h. Gratuit.
Avec Deep and High, c’est une plongée dans l’électro-pop.
Le projet Deep & High rassemble le batteur/producteur Sylvain Caremel et la chanteuse Ourdia Nour, tous les deux issus de la scène musicale rennaise. Leur électro-pop se mêle avec classe au Trip hop et reggae anglais, à l’instar de Morcheeba ou Holly Cook. Sur scène, la forte connexion qui les anime vous remplira de vibrations grâce à leurs sonorités envoûtantes.

Samedi 17 août, place Monestier, 19 h. Gratuit.
Le rock de Valentine
Valentine ou une proposition de rock alternatif.
Ils sont trois, ils sont de Bordeaux et ils ont des vestes en cuir : c’est le groupe de rock alternatif Valentine. Leurs compositions engagées rédigées en français sont les échos d’une génération en quête de changement. À travers une énergie brute incontestable et une musique rock fusionnant rap et électro, Valentine fait exploser les décibels et jumper les foules. À bon entendeur…

At Place Monestier, there's no shortage of ideas, especially among the restaurateur-cafetiers. This year, four of them have teamed up once again to organize the aperitif-concerts-restos for Before, Darc's “off festival”.

Théo Gil, from l'Imprévu, Clément Jacquart, from Café Moustache, Marc'Ange Spinosi, from Casa Corsa and Florian Souedet, from Bistrot des Halles, have concocted six dates to whet our appetites.

The choice of groups is eclectic,” emphasizes Souedet. But we're in the mood for an aperitif concert. The music is pretty smooth. So you can enjoy your friends over a plank of bread on the terrace. The success of this event has been undeniable over the years.

Le Before has become a fixture on the Castelroussin scene,” continues Florian Souedet. We want to work together to bring the historic heart of Châteauroux to life.

Buvette for the Fête de la musique, Feria evening (July 20 this year), Beaujolais Nouveau... The ideas are legion. “More to come,” smiles Florian Souedet. For now, it's time for Before 2024!

Aloïs draws inspiration from his nomadic lifestyle to sing about his desire to travel, his thoughts on freedom, friendship and love. With his powerful, straightforward voice, he pays tribute to what he finds beautiful, joyful or melancholy, to the forces that drive us or hold us back. Rhythmic French chanson, tinged with gospel and rock, to make you dance, sing or dream.

Avec Bad Buddha performs this time as a quintet!
Castelroussin pop/soul duo Bad Buddha return to the stage, but this time as... a quintet! For a one-off date at Before this summer, Asla (lead vocals) and Lionel (guitar) are joined by three musicians and long-time friends, Lahouari (bass), Steeven (drums) and Hafid (guitar). They'll be playing the usual Bad Buddha repertoire plus a few new tracks, all set to a sound that's more electric than... before.

Deep and High is a plunge into electro-pop.
The Deep & High project brings together drummer/producer Sylvain Caremel and singer Ourdia Nour, both from the Rennes music scene. Their electro-pop blends with English trip hop and reggae in a classy way, following in the footsteps of Morcheeba and Holly Cook. On stage, the strong connection between them will fill you with vibrations thanks to their spellbinding sounds.
