The first Fauna sign on this rainforest walk is mounted vertically, whereas the others are mounted on a beveled top of a square hardwood post. Some of the trees in the Kaitoke Regional Park are estimated to be a thousand years old. The park gets almost twice the rainfall compared to Wellington, just ~40 minutes drive away.
