The late 1800s were an era of tremendous growth for Durango, with many of the historic buildings here constructed during that time. The R. C. Schneider Building went up in 1889 and is a central feature of what some call the "Schneider Block." A Himalayan Restaurant occupies a portion of the lower floor.
