"In 1927 the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute (NZDRI) was founded in Palmerston North as part of the government science agency Department of Scientific Industrial Research, which was renamed to the Fonterra Research and Development Centre (FRDC) when Fonterra was formed in 2001." Source: FRDC
