Coniston Tourist Information Centre is run by Coniston Association after the National Park Authority LDNPA pulled out. There is a full time manager, with local volunteer cover, providing very good, local information. Wi-Fi access also.

This building was opened on 27 July 1995 by Hon. Mrs. Sheila Hensman OBE, the then chairman of Cumbria Tourist Board. It is purpose built as a TIC. Nowadays selling guides, books and maps, as well providing an accommodation booking service.
On one side is a small garden which you can use, on the other a LDNPA pay and display car park, with public toilets at the side. Beside the toilets is a payphone kiosk and bus stop shelter.
Inside are displays for local attractions. 2007 there is a Miss Potter montage. Also a real time display of the location of the two electric ferry launches operated by Coniston Launches, on Coniston Water. (
