Huatulco, formally Bahías de Huatulco, centered on the town of La Crucecita, is a tourist development in Mexico. It is located on the Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca. Huatulco's tourism industry is centered on its nine bays, thus the name Bahías de Huatulco, but has since been unofficially shortened to simply Huatulco. In addition to the beaches, there are small communities of Bahias de Huatulco, such as Santa Cruz, La Crucecita, or old Santa María Huatulco (the municipal seat). (

The beach of Santa Cruz is a very popular beach and it is often busy even in low season. It is probably the calmest sea of the Oaxacan coast. The Chapel of the Holy Cross, also known as the Chapel of the Millenary Holy Cross of Huatulco, is a small Roman Catholic temple located in the Bay of Santa Cruz in Huatulco. Quinta Avenida is a 1.5-kilometer walkway connecting Santa Cruz and La Crucecita. This pedestrian corridor goes by a few different names. One is Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue); it is also referred to as an andador turístico (tourist walkway), or as corredor turistico (tourist corridor). The corridor runs between Boulevard Benito Juárez in Santa Cruz and the sports complex in La Crucecita.
