Henry's Drive In - Route 66 - The Mother Road on Waymarking.com

As I left the shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago to travel Route 66 to Santa Monica, I was green. I was inexperienced at capturing waymarkers along a trail. My GPS was new to me. My travel references were new to me. I was only beginning to get my rhythm.

Seeing Henry's was a real pleasure. It was the first waymarker that I had seen pictures of, that I was actually looking for, and that I actually found as planned. Pretty cool. The fact that it was a sunny day certainly helped my disposition. The fact that I didn't have to get out of my car in the 20 degree cold certainly didn't hurt my disposition. I grabbed my shot, snagged my coordinates, and signaled left to get back on the road.

Henry's was special. I only wished I'd been hungry.
