[ENG] Bona Sforza was a daughter of Gian Galeazzo Sforza who became a duce of Milan when he was 7 years old. On his behalf exercised the power his uncle - Ludovico Moro. Her mother was Isabella de Aragon. Bona's marriage was to be arranged so that her husband could support her father in regaining the throne of Milan. The choice fell on the widowed king of Poland - Sigimundus I the Old. Their marriage lasted 30 years and had six children. The oldest son - Sigimundus II Augustus became the next king of Poland.
She did not go down well in Polish historiography, despite being a good queen. She particularly cared about the development of Mazovia incorporated into Poland after the death of the last prince of this region - Janusz III (Bona was accused of poisoning the prince). The castle of Ciechanów was her residence. That's why we may find her coat of arms on the wall of the fortress.
[POL] Bona Sforza byla córka Gian Galeazza Sforzy, który zostal ksieciem Mediolanu, gdy mial 7 lat. W jego imieniu wladze sprawowal jego stryj - Ludovico Moro. Jej matka byla zas Izabela Aragonska. Malzenstwo Bony mialo byc zaaranzowane tak, aby jej maz mógl wesprzec jej ojca w odzyskaniu wladzy nad Mediolanem. Wybór padl na owdowialego króla Polski - Zygmunta I Starego.
Jej rezydencja byl m.in. zamek w Ciechanowie. Stad na murze twierdzy mozemy znalezc jej herb.
