This armoured locomotive was manufactured in South Africa in the late 70's to face the needs of railway transport and patrolling during the Bush War in that country.
It's now placed in Windhoek, capital city of Namibia, in front of the train station, together with more rolling stocking and as part of the outdoors exhibit of Trans-Namib Museum. Access to the outdoors exhibit is free and 24h.
There is a model kit produced and sold in South Africa about these locomotives. In the product profile one can read that "The Bospadda was an Armoured train developed by the SAR in the late 70's.Only 2 of the vehicles were ever manufactured. The Bospadda had road as well as rail capability."
