"According to legend, Vist is a giant who created Visingsö when he and his wife had been at a party in Västergötland and were about to cross Lake Vättern back to Småland. He then took a large tufa and threw it into the lake to step on, and that tufa is now Visingsö. The tufa he took then became Lake Landsjön.

Since 1969, there has been a sculpture by Calle Örnemark, depicting the giant Vist with his rope[1], at Strandvägen in Huskvarna. It was restored a few months before the artist's death in summer 2015."
