This caboose rolled out of Union Pacific’s Omaha shops brand new in February of 1959. It would go on to enjoy a 27-year career with that railroad before being donated to the town of Walden in July of 1989. Designated as class CA-7 by the UP, these steel cabooses were the last ones manufactured with a riveted body.
The caboose can be found along highway 14 just south of Walden near a wildlife viewing area. Walden is located in a high valley region known as North Park which is sometimes called the moose viewing capital of Colorado. I can’t guarantee you’ll see any moose, but the caboose will be in plain sight.
Current Use: Roadside display.
 Type Of Caboose: Cupola, "Standard"
