An elevated bat box is located on the Lower River Rouge Trail with access off Michigan Ave. at its intersection with the ITC Corridor Trail in Canton, Michigan. This location is directly underneath the 345,000 power lines that are owned by the International Transmission Co. (ITC) which lends its name to the north/south hiking trail here.

The bat box was placed by Aidan Collins as his Eagle Scout project for troop 1539 in June of 2022. He also placed some bat information on the placard to educate those hiking the trail. It reads:
·Myth: Bats drink human blood.
·Fact: Most bats do not drink blood but actually eat insects. The average bat can eat 1,000-1,200 mosquitoes/hr. The bats that do drink blood do not drink human blood.
·Myth: All bats are blind.
·Fact: Bats have good eyesight and use echolocation to located food and avoid obstacles
·Myth: Bats will fly into your hair.
·Fact: Parents used to tell their kids this to stop them from goin out at night. Bats us echolocation to avoid people.
·Myth: Bats are not very important.
·Facts: Bats are just as important as bees as they are a pollinator and help spread seeds. They also help limit insect population.
·Myth: All bats have rabies.
·Fact: Research shows that only 0.1% of all bats have rabies.
