From the top of this place you can see a bit of the Vigo estuary and some of the port.
This structure is designed for that and to connect both sides of the motorway by lift.
At night it is illuminated.
The truth is that there are more beautiful views of the port than this one, and you can see little of the estuary.
In two months of being open, 3 people have already committed suicide, which creates debate.
Viewpoint open 24 hours and lift from Sundays to Thursdays it can be used between 06:00 and 23:00. On Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of holidays it will be operational two hours longer than the rest of the days: from 06:00 to 01:00.

"Characteristics
It starts from the Vialia shopping center , passes over the AP-9 highway and contains two elevators , avoiding a detour of approximately 2 kilometers. The structure has two cabins of 2.73 square meters and a capacity for 17 people each.
The construction work lasted 16 months and had a budget of 15.8 million euros . It is a panoramic, translucent elevator that covers 50 meters in about 30 seconds. It has four wind turbines that allow the elevators to function as self-sufficient elements.
In addition to its function as an elevator, the Halo is presented as a viewpoint of the city with views of the Ría de Vigo .

Events
On February 7, 2024, before its inauguration, a 31-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the Halo. After the inauguration, on February 22, a 21-year-old young man died in the same way .

Recognitions
